Mystery of the Beard-man

Sat Sep 23, 2006, 6:35 AM
Ok, so I'm still a little sore and vulnerable after my break-up with 'D'. I went into work on Tuesday to be informed by a work-mate that 'some guy with a beard' was asking when my next shift at work was. My work-mate told him it was Sunday (as far as he knew) although I was in before then.

Now, I knew that 'D' could grow some impressive stubble when he wanted to, but I would never have said it was a 'beard' and it certainly wouldn't have been the first thing I would have mentioned when describing him to someone else! I asked my friend to describe him in a little bit more detail for me. He said he was kind of short and 'about my age'. Some things sounded like him, others didn't. But nevertheless, I was hopeful. After all, who else could be so desperate to speak to me? Could this be it? The Grand Gesture? Was he ready to be friends with me again?

No.

Like Hell it was!! So I was putting out some mushrooms on a shelf when this short hick-guy kneels down beside me (yes, he actually kneeled) and asks me if I'm in a relationship with anyone right. I say no I'm not. He says can I ask you out. I say no. He says can I leave you my number. I say no he cant. He asks are you sure (yes of course I'm fucking sure... I'm fucking positive that I'll never date you in million years you knob :angered: ) my age? MY age?? The man was thirty years old AT LEAST. And eventually he leaves. But I have a feeling he's not going to go away that easily.

What is it about breaking up with someone you really, really like that attracts the lepers and the freaks that no-one else wants to you like a beacon? Seriously, it makes my blood boil.

On the bright side, I should have known that it wouldn't have been 'D' because my psychic predicted this was going to happen. Of course her version of the event translated as, "Not by the hairs of my chinny chin-chin" so whoever the myserious beard-man was, he wasn't going to be welcome in my house of bricks was he? Haha :giggle:

Thanks for the :+fav:! =) Some of your stuff looks pretty cool (I like 'A Dog Loose In The Woods', it reminds me of something, though I couldn't say why). ^^
